Commercial License Agreement
Last updated: October 03, 2026
This License Agreement explains exactly what you may and may not do with the typefaces you obtain from AIFont Ltd. ("AIFont"). Issuing a license in the product and downloading your PDF certificate creates a binding agreement on the terms below. It is incorporated into our Terms of Service.
1. License grant
When you issue a license for a typeface, AIFont grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide, non-transferable, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and display that specific typeface, subject to the terms of this agreement. The license begins on the issue date printed on your certificate and does not expire.
2. What you may do
- Use the licensed typeface in unlimited end products, including logos, brand identities, websites, web and mobile applications, advertising, packaging, signage, print, broadcast, video titles, social media, e-books, merchandise and client work.
- Use it for commercial and personal projects alike.
- Embed it in documents and applications for the end user, as long as the raw font file is not extractable in a way that allows independent redistribution.
- Deliver finished designs to your clients.
- Keep a backup copy for your own archival and production use.
- Use it on any number of your own devices and within your organization.
3. What you may not do
- Do not resell, redistribute, sublicense, share or give away the raw font file (the .ttf/.otf) in any form, including inside a template, plugin, font bundle or design asset pack.
- Do not sell or give away the font under any circumstances, even if modified. Modification does not create resale rights.
- Do not use the typeface as the primary mark of a competing font-selling product or service.
- Do not claim authorship of the typeface as a human design, or represent it as a transcription of someone else's existing typeface.
- Do not use the typeface in a way that infringes the rights of others, including in content that is hateful, unlawful or deceptive.
- Do not remove or alter copyright, trademark, license or author information inside the font file.
4. Font library and third parties
Typefaces you generate or license are published to our shared library for browsing and licensing by other users. Because the license you receive is personal to you, another user may also license the same typeface and use it in their own projects. Your license is unaffected by theirs, and theirs is unaffected by yours.
5. Trademarks and brand protection
This license permits use of the typeface in a trademark or logo. It does not warrant that such use will not infringe a third party's trademark or design right, and it does not grant rights in the words or designs you typeset. Before filing a typeface as a trademark, seek advice from a qualified trademark attorney - distinctiveness matters more than style.
6. Registration and unique name
Font names are descriptive hints, not reservations of names. We do not grant exclusivity to any typeface name and cannot guarantee that a name is available in a registry such as the USPTO or EUIPO.
7. Verification
Each certificate carries a unique certificate number and a verification hash. Anyone can confirm the
authenticity of a certificate at https://aifont.tech/verify/<certificate-number>.
Removing or altering the certificate number invalidates the record.
8. Quality and fitness
Fonts are produced by an automated rendering engine. We review for outline validity and charset coverage, but you are responsible for proofreading every character before it goes into a client deliverable. If a font is defective, see the Refund Policy, section 5.
9. Term and termination
This license is perpetual for the licensee. If you materially breach these terms, or the Acceptable Use Policy, we may terminate the license. On termination you must stop using the typeface in new work. Licenses already issued to your clients for finished designs they paid for are honoured, provided those designs are not redistributed as source font files.
10. Warranties and liability
The typeface is licensed "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, AIFont disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and limits its aggregate liability under this agreement as described in the Terms of Service, section 10.
11. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the same law and forum provisions as the Terms of Service, section 15. Consumer protections available to you by mandatory local law are unaffected.
